Our goal is to give our clients the most accurate and artful presentation of their prized trophies. Using the finest materials available, we are "Dedicated to preserving the beauty and dignity of nature". After all, Quality is remembered long after Price is forgotten.

Because we here at Rick Leach's Trophy Taxidermy are dedicated to preserving the beauty and dignity of nature, we spend extra time in studying the wildlife we work with. Not only do we buy and use the finest forms, glass eyes and materials available to us, but we stay up on all the latest state of the art equipment and technology to give you a finished work of wildlife art done the way we would do our own. Realizing that our clients are anxious to display their hard earned trophies, we are very diligent in keeping our delivery times as good as or better than anyone in the industry.

Rick Leach was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois. A love and respect for nature were instilled in him at a very young age by hours of time spent exploring, hiking, hunting and fishing with his father and brother. A passion for wildlife art was growing and a hobby of taxidermy seemed to be the way to preserve the beauty and dignity of the wildlife he harvested for the family tablefare.

A degree in Marketing and a formal education in the Art & Business of Taxidermy led to the establishment of Rick Leach's Trophy Taxidermy in 1975.

Rick has won numerous state, regional, national and international competition in three dimensional fish art and wildlife taxidermy. Rick's fish recreations are displayed in numerous Northwest dam and fish hatchery visitors centers, museums, restaurants and in homes all over the U.S. and other countries.

What our clients are saying about us.

"Rick Leach's reputation precedes itself for a reason. It's the same reason I chose to have him do my taxidermy work on my 24-pound steelhead and 16-pound walleye. I wanted the best! I have no problem recommending Rick Leach's taxidermy work to my friends and readers. It's money well-spent."

"Simply put...Rick Leach is without question the very best wildlife taxidermist I have ever seen. His incredible accuracy for detail is consistently captured in every mount. Even my friends who are not associated with the sport of hunting are amazed at the realism of Rick's work. My only fear is that Rick would retire from his work before I retire from hunting."

"Rick Leach has done work for me personally for several years. The work is exceptional and attention to detail and the ability to make them look alive is why I refer all my clients for both Big Game such as moose, Mt. Goat, Brown Bear and Black Bears, any and all fish.  I highly recommend him for the work and service he provides."

"Hunting and fishing has been my way of life as long as I can remember. Along the way if everything goes as planned you may harvest a special animal or fish that has a lot of personal value to you. Rick Leach does a wonderful job at preserving your trophy just as you remembered it for a lifetime treasure."

“Quality is remembered after price is forgotten. All I can say to that is you certainly get what you pay for.  As a member of the Safari Club International I see a lot of other peoples Trophy rooms and after seeing the quality of Rick's work, I am amazed at what people will pay for sub quality work. When I leave an animal I have paid a lot for and worked hard to get, I never have to worry about it coming back ruined. I once brought an animal to Rick that the guide had butchered so bad while caping it, that it was nearly ruined. Rick’s repair work is exemplary.  Rick works long hours and is always there with a smile and after all these years still gets excited over all Trophy’s big and small and realizes the importance of each animal to each person. This is a true passion for Rick. I have had visitors in my home that may never have a mount done who were so impressed by the work they wanted to know the name of the artist who made it look so alive. Its one thing to flip through your photo album and look at a two dimensional animal, but to see an animal in three-dimensional form is a true work of art."

"I’ve had numerous mounts done by Rick from rainbow trout to my life-size 11 foot Alaskan brown bear and I have been totally satisfied. Because he pays attention to the specific details of the way I want my mount to look and has the experience to do the custom work I prefer, they always look exactly as I remembered them at the moment they impressed me enough to have them mounted."
